About Us
Our History
The Arrowsmith Program has been creating new realities and transforming the futures for those with learning difficulties since 1978 when its program of cognitive exercises was first offered to students with learning difficulties.
What we have discovered over the past four decades in our real-world lab at the Arrowsmith Schools, Canada, and in 90 classrooms around the world, is that learning capacities can be enhanced. This has been reflected by multiple academic studies performed at several universities in four countries. Learn more about our research
Arrowsmith School Online opens its virtual doors on the 8th of September 2020, providing online access to our individualized cognitive programs to students, at-home, working with a trained cognitive teacher.
Who is Arrowsmith School Online for?
Students who come to Arrowsmith School Online have been struggling in school – some are just starting their schooling but their experience has already shown a pattern of learning problems. Others have been finding school a challenge for years.
The Arrowsmith Program cognitive exercises offered at our school, strengthen fundamental aspects of learning such as attention, comprehension, working memory, communication, reasoning, numeracy, social-emotional intelligence, and wellbeing. The Program has been transformative for individuals with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, processing speed, attention difficulties, working memory, and executive function issues.
For an overview of the more common problems addressed please read our Chart of Learning Outcomes.
Our Approach is Personalized to the Learner – The Arrowsmith Assessment
Each new student undergoes an assessment online with our psychometrist to identify his or her learning profile
This profile is used to design the cognitive program necessary to improve identified weaknesses and strengthen these cognitive capacities.
Our goal is for our students to become effective, confident, and self-directed learners for life and to enable them to achieve their goals of academic and career success.
Virtual Learning – How it works
Our technology allows us to monitor student performance minute by minute and provides our teachers with the ability to provide real-time feedback, in our virtual learning environment.
This allows students to stay on task and build their mastery while working at-home on their cognitive exercises.
Tuition
The annual tuition fee for the 2021-2022 school year is $18,500 for a Full Time Program offering 4 periods a day 5 days per week. For Canadian residents tuition fees are not subject to the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) or Provincial Sales Tax.
